CHAP XX.
Of the Natural Inhabitants of the Cape of Good Hope[1] , the Hodmadods or Hottantots. Their Personage , Garb , besmearing them- selves ; their Cloathing , Houses , Food , way of Living , and Dancing at the Full of the Moon : Compared in those respects with other Negroes and Wild Indians. THe Natural Inhabitants of the Cape are the Hodmadods , as they are commonly called , which is a corruption of the Word Hottantot ; for this is the Name by which they call to one ano- ther , either in their Dances , or on any occasion , as
